Daisy Wedding Cakes

Are daisies your favorite flower?

This simple bloom represents innocence, purity, and loyal love: perfect for a wedding day! With its white petals and yellow center, this flower is wonderful for a spring or summer wedding. If you love daisies, and you love cake, the answer is simple: feature a gorgeous daisy wedding cake on your big day!

Do-It-Yourself

If you are a creative bride who doesn’t mind saving a bit of money, you can do wonders by creating your very own daisy cake! It’s simple: order a plain, tiered white cake from your local bakery (you don’t even have to say it’s for a wedding: some brides swear they’ve saved money by ordering a “birthday cake”). Then, decorate it yourself with daisies. You can purchase sugar-daisy cake decorations online or at a party / grocery store. The sugar daisies have the same shelf life as sugar cubes, so you can purchase them well in advance! Then, simply press them into the cake in any pattern you like!

Au Natural

You can also decorate your cake with real daisies. This gives a natural look – just make sure guests don’t eat them! You may want to use fresh daisies as a topping or as a central decoration on each layer which can be removed before serving. Remember daisy chains? You might already be wearing one in your hair….these delicate garlands can also be used to dress up a cake or cake table.

White & Yellow

Traditionally, daisies are white and yellow. This can be reflected in your wedding cake flavor by serving a vanilla and lemon flavored cake: delicious and perfect for warm weather! Decorate each layer with a simple yellow ribbon for a look that is just as simple as the daisy itself. Or, have yellow swirls piped onto each layer of your cake for a fantasy look! Daises don’t only come in yellow and white. Look for Gerber daisies for inspiration. They come in a rainbow of colors but have that same simplicity of a daisy.

All Daisy All the Way

Imagine a gorgeous cake absolutely covered in frosted daisies! Your cake decorator can create a “collage” type frosting on your cake made up of hundreds of interspersed piped daisies, using either buttercream or royal icing! Or, you can even have each cake tier shaped like a daisy, with the petals coming out as slices. A pale yellow cake jumps to life when trailing vines of daisies are piped onto it. Daisies can also be made of marzipan and placed, overlapping one another, all over the cake.

Make It a Cupcake

Who doesn’t love a cupcake? Have your cupcake creator design a series of cupcakes in shades of white, Daisy Wedding Cakescream, and yellow, each featuring one large frosted daisy on top! Present them in an elegant cupcake tree or cupcake stand for maximum effect. Or, have each table presented with its very own tray of cupcakes.

If you love the innocence and simplicity of the daisy flower, your wedding guests are in for a visual treat. From bouquets to centerpieces, you can incorporate this pretty flower into virtually every aspect of your big day. When it’s time to cut the cake, enjoy the moment! And you don’t have to play “he loves me, he loves me not” today – you already know the answer to that one!
