Planning on saying your vows on a beach? A destination wedding package can be extraordinarily cost-effective; not to mention romantic, beautiful, and memorable! Saying “I do” to a destination wedding often means saying “I do” to a fabulous package as well! Do your research, and find the perfect resort for you and your wedding!
Questions to Ask Yourselves Before you decide on any sort of wedding package or destination, there are some questions you and your fiancé must discuss. Who will be paying for the wedding? What is the budget? How many people will you invite to join you? Where is your dream destination? What time of year do you plan to wed? Are you picturing a lavish, grand affair – or a simple, but elegant ceremony? Once you have come up with the answers to these questions, you should have a solid idea of what type of wedding you are envisioning.
Questions to Ask Resorts Now that you are clear on what you’re looking for, it’s time to check out what the resorts are offering. Remember, you’re the client, so feel free to explore your options – and ask lots of questions! Decide on a few countries or locations that you think will work with your vision. You’ll want to choose a resort that’s within the price range of your guests. Select three resorts based on reading online reviews, looking at photos, and talking to a travel agent. Now, you’ll want to speak directly with the onsite wedding coordinator. Ask what’s included in their destination-wedding package. What sorts of extras are available? What kinds of offers do they have for brides and grooms – for example, some resorts offer a free room to the newly married couple, or an incentive to spend their honeymoon at a sister location.
What’s Included? If you’re heading to an all-inclusive resort for your destination wedding, you’ll want to find out exactly what’s included – and, perhaps more importantly, what’s not included! Items such as a marriage license are often extra. The resort will typically cover the ceremony, the ceremony décor, and a cake and champagne reception afterwards. Of course, if food is included in everyone’s package, that is part of the package as well! Perhaps you want to have a live band play. Or, you want to bring in your own photographer. Consider all the options!
Sail Away Cruise ships are another fantastic option if you have your heart set on a destination-wedding package! Look into how you and your loved ones can sail off into the sunset, experience an on-board or beachside wedding ceremony, and explore the Caribbean!
Do Your Homework While a destination wedding is basically a turnkey affair, it’s still important to take care of all the details. Your resort coordinator should be able to walk you through everything, but be sure that you’ve taken care of the basic marriage requirements to get married in a particular place. Some countries require certain documents, a specific length of stay, or other information.
Budget, Baby! While a destination-wedding package might be all inclusive, don’t forget to budget for all the little extras leading up to your big day! You’ll need a wedding gown, suitable attire for the groom, invitations, jewelry, favors, and more. Depending on the size of your wedding, it might be a good idea to sit down with a calculator and start saving! Destination wedding packages are a wonderful trend for weddings, allowing brides and grooms from all over the world to enjoy gorgeous weddings in the most beautiful of surroundings! -- Destination Wedding Packages --
