Firefighter Wedding Cake
-- Firefighter Wedding Cake --
Have you or your partner devoted your life to putting out fires? Why not incorporate this important aspect of your lives into your wedding day? When it comes time to serve your wedding cake, delight and surprise your guests by serving up a cake that’s a nod to your firefighter!
Colors like deep red, fire engine red, orange, or yellow are fabulous colors for a wedding that will feature some firefighter elements. Why not pair one of these colors with something elegant like cream, black, or silver? You can then incorporate simply the colors into your cake if you so desire, using cream frosting and dark red ribbon to create a stunning cake. A word to the wise: if you have your heart set on a red cake, be careful! The red dye tends to stain teeth – and you don’t want your guests walking around with stained mouths! -- Firefighter Wedding Cake --
A Cake on FireCake designers are getting more and more creative with wedding cakes – and that means you can, too! Consider ordering a cake that is shaped like a building, with a ladder propped up the side! Or, simply have a traditional tiered cake with a ladder up the side and some “windows” frosted on. You might include the traditional fireman hat as part of your cake, or decorate using toy fire trucks! Want to really get the fire going? Consider serving a dessert that can be torched. You will need to check with your venue to make sure it is okay. There are some amazing presentations that can be done by stacking wine glasses filled with alcohol, and then setting the whole pyramid aflame! Talk to your caterer or bar-staff to see what can be done. The perfect dessert? Crème Brule, of course!
Firefighter Cake TopperIf you are serving a traditional cake, you can add a firefighting element to the topper. Consider ordering a specialty cake topper that features a firefighter carrying a bride – he’s your knight in shining armor! These can be created to you and your fiancé’s likeness and are absolutely wonderful! Maybe you are both firefighters. Another option is to order a special crystal or porcelain cake topper that features a couple wearing fire hats. -- Firefighter Wedding Cake --
Cut the CakeYou can carry the theme right into your wedding cake cutting ceremony, as well. If you have a traditional cake cutting set, you might tie a red ribbon around each piece. Why not have hubby-to-be put on a big show by pretending to cut the cake with his fireman’s axe? Choosing to honor the role that the firefighting department plays in your life is a lovely and thoughtful gesture. If you love the idea of a funky fire fighter cake but still want a traditional cake, consider having two cakes: one grooms cake that’s fun and funky, and one more traditional and elegant wedding cake. From flaming desserts to fiery colors, you can bring this theme to life throughout your entire event! Ride off into the sunset in style with your entire bridal party on a rented fire engine.
