Homemade wedding favor ideas!

-- Homemade Wedding Favor Ideas --

Homemade wedding favors are a popular way of adding a personal touch to your wedding day. It’s cost effective, personal, and a fun way to get creative – and send your guests home with something that you made yourself!

Something Yummy

If you or your partner loves to spend time in the kitchen, then sending your guests home with a delicious home-made treat is a no brainer! From standbys like cookies and fudge to unique creations, you can tantalize your guests’ taste buds by cooking up a storm. Remember to start early or plan ahead, as some edible gifts need to be served fresh and others take some time to look their best! Here are a few ideas of yummy treats you and your fiancé can whip up to delight your guests.

-Flavored Oils are beautiful and are gorgeous gifts. Add herbs to a pretty bottle in large pieces so they become works of art – rosemary is particularly gorgeous!

-Mix your favorite herbs and spices in pretty jars to create your very own “Italian blend” or “Steak Rub.”

-In an appropriate sized jar, add the dry ingredients to a favorite baked good in layers, so you end up with a beautiful layering of flour, oats, chocolate chips and brown sugar (or whatever your ingredients are) and add the recipe on a pretty tag so guests can go home and bake your creation themselves!

-Shaped cookies: Put your cookie cutters to work by creating yummy cookies in a shape that works with your wedding – such as a snowflake, an oak leaf, or a heart! Personalize them further by frosting them with your initials or wedding date!

Artistic Creations

Your homemade gift doesn’t need to be something your guests can eat! If one of your is an artist, the solution is obvious – give out small pieces of artwork created just by you! Don’t have a resident artisan who can whip up stained glass or metal works? No problem. Anyone can be an artist with the right tools! Why not create mini-herb gardens for your guests? You could also make your own Christmas ornaments which guests can take home and use year after year – perfect for a holiday wedding!

Sweet Stuff

Hershey’s kisses are hugely popular – they’re cost effective, and you can bundle them up however you please to make them unique! From little white boxes to tiny treat-bags, you can give “kisses and hugs” to your guests by creating a homemade presentation!

Musical Notes

If you and your fiancé love to listen to music, why not give each guest a gift they will truly appreciate – a take-home CD that is a soundtrack to your love! Choose songs that are special, make an “album cover” and get to work burning CDs.

Make it Special

No matter what you choose to give your guests as gifts, if you’re making it homemade, it will be extra-appreciated! Remember, half of the favor is how it’s packaged! Take your time to do it right, and head to a craft supply shop to buy lots of ribbon and wrap, which will add an air of extravagance to any favor!
