Want Irish wedding
favors at your wedding?

-- Irish Wedding Favors --

If you want to add a touch of Irish luck to your wedding day, choosing to give your guests Irish style wedding favors is the perfect way! From hosting an Irish themed wedding to just adding a bit of Irish charm, no matter how you choose to slice it, an Irish favor is a fun addition to any wedding!

Lucky You

Many Irish traditions center around luck – so giving out an Irish wedding favor is certainly a lucky choice! From horseshoes to four-leaf clovers, there are many symbols of luck in Irish culture – and there are of course some beliefs that center around luck on the wedding day! These include a “wedding bell,” a “wedding hanky,” and “lucky coins.” While traditionally these items are for the bride and groom, you could adjust them a bit to become fabulous favors. You could also give out other traditional Irish gifts that represent different things: Salt & Pepper Shakers (May your home never be without food), Wine Glasses (may you always have plenty to drink) and Candlestick Holders (So your home will always have light).

Shamrock Theme

You can add a shamrock theme to virtually any traditional wedding favor. Consider giving out wineglasses with a shamrock motif frosted onto the rim. Shamrock shaped chocolates or soaps are lovely options as well. You can also print special tags for your favors using a shamrock design. If you want to give a plant, why not give a small pot of growing clover?

Give Some Green

Since green is the traditional Irish color of choice, you can make nearly any wedding favor Irish by opting to purchase it in the color green! From soaps and candles to tasty candies, opt for the green and enjoy! Other favors that can be given in green are matchbooks, coasters, jellies, or mints.

Crazy for Celtic and Claddagh

The Celtic theme is beautiful and also happens to have Irish roots. Consider incorporating the “claddagh” design, which features two hands, a heart, and a crown to capture the Irish feel – you can purchase chocolate molded into this beautiful symbol, or simply have it printed on your thank-you card. The Celtic knot or cross can be applied to virtually any gift – why not give out small bibles with the celtic cross on the cover, or just give our pewter crosses for each guest to take home and incorporate into their home décor?

Irish Sayings

Bring it all together by adding a sweet Irish saying to your favor. Something as simple as “Lucky in Love” is a nice addition, or “Crowned with Love,” is a traditional saying.

Shop Smart

If your wedding date falls in such a way that you have a St Patrick’s Day during your engagement, don’t forget to take advantage of post-holiday sales! You can stock up on green items and party favors at a fraction of their regular price by hitting the shops a day or two after St. Paddy’s Day! And don’t wear green on your wedding day – it’s considered unlucky!
