Types of wedding flowers
- Real vs Artificial -

-- Types Of Wedding Flowers --

Having a hard time deciding between real and artificial wedding flowers?

Here are some of the pros and cons for both.

Silk

Many brides choose silk flowers over real ones because of the huge difference in cost. Silk flowers can be much cheaper than real ones, and aren't limited to the blooms of the season.

Pros:

They are a cheaper alternative

Can get flowers that are out of season

They wont wilt

They make great keep sakes

Good quality ones look real

Easy to work with and arrange

You can pre-arrange them yourself long before the wedding day

Cons:

They can look cheap or fake

Real

Real flowers have a natural, pleasant fragrance that you can't with artificial ones.

They look great and smell great, but the main negative is that they wont last much longer than your reception.

They can also be very expensive. Especially if the type you're looking for isn't in season.

Pros:

They look beautiful

They smell amazing

Cons:

They can be very expensive

May be wilted by the end of the day (especially if it's hot out)

You can't pre-arrange them before hand

My personal preference is to add a mix of both..Have silk flowers in your major decorations that will fill your room or hall, and have real flowers in the centerpieces and bouquets. Use the silk ones as room accents, but use real flowers in anything guest will be close up to.
