These days there are a lot of styles it choose from when it comes to selecting your perfect wedding dress. But keeping the little things straight can be a challenge.. Like which styles will work for YOUR body type, and the different names of all of the wedding dress styles that are out there.
Here are some common dress styles that you'll run into.
A-Line/Princess - Think of an "A" shaped dress. This style is fitted at the top, and flares into a wide shaped skirt at the bottom.
It's a great choice for someone with a small waistline and fuller hips, because it hugs the waist, and covers up the hips.
You can find it both with, and without a train.
Empire - This style is known for its raised waistline, which generally sits just below the bust. Then the dress, loosely or tightly, falls down to the ground from there.
This style is flattering for most body types, as it gives the appearance of longer legs, and height.
This is a great dress choice for pregnant women.
Column / Sheath - This style is a straight line from the neck down. It hugs the body and accentuates your curves.
This dress is great for slim woman, who aren't looking to hide any problem areas.
Because of the long, straight lines in the dress, wearing it will help make shorter woman appear taller.
Ball Gown - If you're looking for a fairy tale wedding dress, this is your perfect fit! (Picture the golden colored dress Belle wears in the end of Beauty and the Beast)
It has a tightly fitted top, and a full skirted bottom. The full skirt is great for hiding fuller hips. Also, the fitted waistline of this dress will accentuate a smaller waist.
Steer clear though, if you don't have enough height to wear this kind of dress. Otherwise you'll look like an over sized pumpkin!
Also keep in mind that if you have a small bust, this dress will actually make it look smaller.
Mermaid- This style hugs the body tightly from the chest to the knee, and flares out at the bottom.
This is a very dramatic wedding dress, and is a great choice for woman who want to show off their curves.
It's looks amazing on slim figures, both short and tall.
