You’ll want to make sure that the elements adhere well, and will fit in the envelope without falling apart. Not sure how your creation will hold up in the mail? Consider making a complete mock up, then mailing it to yourself! Other natural elements you may be able to incorporate into your invitation include leaves, sand, or photographs of nature. Feathers are another gorgeous natural element you might include on your invitation.

Unique Artistry

Your invitation can be formal, funky, wild, or traditional. You can accent it with graphic design that suits your event: consider choosing a theme early on in your planning process so you can work include it throughout your planning process. Some fabulous graphic themes you might include are trailing vines, floral arrangements, birds, or a unique monogram.

Ribbons & Lace

Your wedding invitations needn’t be boring! Whether you are making them yourself or purchasing them all ready to go; you can add interest to your creations by adding texture. Beautiful ribbon, lacy accents, and tiny pearls or sequins will make your invitations really pop! A bit of ribbon can really add a special element to virtually any invitation!

It’s all in the Envelope

Don’t leave your envelope undressed! It’s the first thing your guests will see, after all! Make it truly special by incorporating some unexpected elements into your envelope. A patterned or foil-lined interior is a lovely touch. But what about the outside of the envelope? You can personalize your very own stamps with a photo of the happy couple, or simply choose on that works with your décor, such as a floral or scenic stamp. You can seal your envelopes using a bit of hot wax (be careful – this can get messy!). Or, you can purchase stunning seals that work with your overall décor and theme! When it’s time to address the envelopes, consider hiring a professional calligrapher to do the work.

Some brides are choosing to present their invitations in entirely different forms! Consider a small box to house your invite, instead of a traditional envelope. Are you an eco-conscious bride? You may choose to use recycled elements in your invitation; or, better yet, send out an online invite. This will allow guests to RSVP online – without wasting paper!
