Wedding Program
Ideas & Tips

-- Wedding Program Ideas --

What is a wedding program?

A wedding program is a list or piece of paper printed off and given to all the guests at a wedding. It shows a list of events that will be happening, and at what time during the day.

Some couples also choose to list other details, some of which will be listed below.

Do you need one?

No. There is no rule saying that you have to have a wedding program, but in some cases they will come in handy.

For example:

- If you are having an exceptionally large wedding, handing out programs will help your guests get to know the people in your wedding party, and your relationship to them.

- If your wedding will be lengthy, with a lot of different events, it will help your guests know what is coming up next throughout the day.

- If you are having a traditional wedding, it's a nice formal detail to add.

What goes in the program?

- List the wedding party and any important guests who will be there:

Bride and Groom
Officiant
Maid of Honor
Best Man
Bridesmaids
Groomsmen
Mother and Father of the Bride (including step parents)
Mother and Father of the Groom (including step parents)

- List the order and time of events happening throughout the day.

- Say special thanks to friends and family, including those who traveled long distances.

Optional Additions:

- Memorials - A small tribute to remember and honor those who are no longer with us, and could not make it her tonight.

- Directions or a map to the reception, happening later that day

- A touching poem or lyrics to a favorite song
